HR Consultant to Fortune 200 companies, USA

Graduated in 1975

Beginning his career in the West Midlands, British-born Phil Corke has given HR advice to range of Fortune 200 companies and now leads an international executive search practice in the USA.

Graduating in the 1970s from what was then Birmingham Polytechnic (now Birmingham City University) with a BA (Hons) in Economics, Phil cut his teeth in human resources as a graduate trainee at vehicle manufacturing company British Leyland. He worked his way up and has since taken up roles for a variety of businesses, both in the UK and the USA.

He later moved to Uxbridge as the personnel director of Bristol-Myers, an international pharmaceutical company, and a move across the Atlantic followed when he was transferred after securing the position of the company's European HR director. He remained in the USA, moving to Rhode Island and then back to New Jersey, and for 12 years he was the senior vice president for Ansell, a company that provides health and safety protection solutions.

Phil has continued to build an impressive career across the pond, setting up his own consultancy three years ago and is now president of Sanford Rose Associates-Somerset, based in Somerville, New Jersey. The executive search firm and global recruiting network has over 50 years of service and more than 60 offices worldwide.
