May Bratby’s research and teaching interests cover communication, cross-cultural communication, collaborative working and improving the interface between people and communication technologies. Her research focuses on people communication and factors that affect people working as members of teams.
May’s teaching and research is underpinned with industry experience gained mainly working as a project manager within the Design and Build industry, a sub-sector of the construction sector. She holds a PhD in management which investigated Communication Breakdown Behaviour in the UK Construction Sector. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate courses including organisational behavior, cross-cultural management, research practice and methodology.
May has developed during her PhD studies an in-depth knowledge in research methodology, qualitative methods and CAQDAS, which she continues to develop while teaching.
