Mingru obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham. Her PhD research focused on the investigation of transaction cost, holding period and return volatility in stock market. She also holds an MSc in International Money and Banking from the University of Birmingham.
Mingru is the currently the Programme Leader of BA International Finance (Top-up) and MSc Finance and Investment at Business School. She has taught a wide range of subjects including Finance, and Economics to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. She also supervise MSc and PhD students’ dissertations. Prior to joining Birmingham City University, Mingru worked at the University of Bedfordshire, Staffordshire University and the University of Birmingham. Mingru is an experienced academic and has demonstrated abilities to enhance student experience in higher education. She has been nominated for “Engaging and Inspiring Teacher of the Year” in both 2016 and 2017.
