Since gaining my RN at Addenbrookes Hospital in 1982 I have worked in adult and sexual health nursing. In 1986 I moved into nurse education, initially as a clinical teacher at The Whittington Hospital & The Nightingale College of Nursing in London.

Since that time I have worked in various roles within health care education, whilst maintaining a clinical element/caseload. Formerly a member of the RCN Sexual Health Forum Committee and committee member for various groups within the College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists (COSRT) formerly the British Association of Sexual & Relationship Therapists (BASRT).

During my career I have been responsible for the instigation and development of a psychosexual therapy service in the Black Country, together with the further development of another service in the East Midlands.

I have held a number of management roles within Birmingham City University and am currently the Head of Department Public Health, a team of experienced health care academics from a wide range of clinical and non-clinical backgrounds.

Currently working towards my PhD via publication - theme - Sexuality and sexual health in healthcare practice.
