Birmingham City University has long understood the importance of culture and creativity to the wellbeing of people, communities, society and the economy.
Such understanding is widely reflected in our courses, research and business portfolios.
We offer 158 courses in cultural and creative subjects and our research impact in those areas is significant and growing. We transfer and exchange knowledge in many aspects of culture through a range of initiatives including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
We contribute significantly to the vitality of the West Midlands’ cultural programming, with an annual output of over 300 public performances, exhibitions and events spanning the arts, design and creative innovation.
We have over 200 active, innovative partnerships with a wide range of established arts institutions. Above all, we create original work and foster the development of artists whose names are recognised the world over.
