What is an Applicant Taster Day?

An Applicant Taster Day is more in-depth than an Open Day and gives you a more tailored experience. You’ll find out more about your course and hear about the student experience through taster sessions and opportunities to meet academic staff and current students. You will also have an opportunity to view our accommodation and chat to our support services.

During the lab tour, you will observe and experience the practical work carried out by our professional technician in demonstrating some of the experiments in our concrete and hydraulics labs. This will also help to give you an idea of how certain experiments are conducted and why is it important in the Civil Engineering course.

Walking Tour of Eastside Developments

We'll take you for a short walk around our 'living lab'. The area surrounding the campus is undergoing huge change and is home to several exciting projects such as the HS2 terminus, the new Glasswater Locks development and our recently completed STEAMhouse building. During your studies you'll get to know local projects well as many will be incorporated into your modules and assessments.
