Level Up team
Hello, I’m Hannah and I am the Student Success Adviser for the School of Architecture and Design. I have studied my Foundation Year, BA in Fine Art and my MA in Fine Art all at BCU, so I know the University and the city well. As the Student Success Adviser I aim to ensure that every student is supported during their time at BCU so they will fulfil their studies to the best of their abilities. I want to create a welcoming and encouraging community within the school so that students can learn from and strengthen each another both academically and personally. There are many services that BCU provides to assist students throughout their time here, including; finance, childcare, academic support and mental health and wellbeing. If you need support or guidance on any issue during your time at BCU then please contact me and I will be here to help. I hope you enjoy your studies here!
Level Up Mentors
Reuvie is a passionate student, who enjoys socialising and teaching others the skills that she has developed throughout her time at university and beyond. Reuvie enjoys teaching others about the creative arts such as photography, media-camera, videography, graphic design and drawing/sketching. Reuvie also takes pride in helping people to become their best in whatever they excel in, especially for those taking Architecture. Reuvie is looking forward to sharing her skills and advice to new students, and finding ways to guarantee success in their years at university.
Emma is a second year BA (Hons) Product and Furniture Design student originally from Shropshire. Emma enjoys travelling and loves animals. Emma came to university as she would like to work for a sustainable, ethical 3D design company post-graduation. Emma has just completed her first year so the aspects of starting university life are fairly recent and she hopes that she can assist or answer questions, whatever they may be.
Valentina Lupi is from Italy, she is 21 years old and is a second year student of BA (Hons) Interior Architecture and Design who has been living in England for two years. For Valentina, studying interior design gives her the ability of, in her projects, merging the world in her mind with the world around her.
Valentina enjoys inspiring people based on her learning experiences earned in university and internships. Due to her love of interior design, she is extremely keen to stimulate more interest in the subject for new students. As an extrovert Valentina enjoys working with people and is also dedicated and motivated as well as very passionate about studying at BCU. Her aim for the future is to do a MA in Interior Design at Royal College of Arts and a MA in Architectural Lighting at KTH in Stockholm.
Oana-Magdalena is a second year BA Architecture student at BCU who has previous experience as a volunteer on BCU Open Days. Oana-Magdalena found that the Open Day event was one of the best experiences she has had as a student. She enjoys having the opportunity to communicate with visitors, guide them around the University and provide them with as much information as she could about the Architecture course. Oana-Magdalena was able to support and encourage people while they were with her and because of this experience, she knows that she can be helpful.
Every student at the School is allocated a personal tutor during the first few weeks at University. The personal tutor will be a member of your teaching team who can be approached for personal and professional advice during your time at Birmingham City University. Timetabled one-to-ones with them are integrated into every term and, of course, you are more than welcome to approach any of the team if you have a question or any worries. If you are unsure who your personal tutor is please speak to your lead tutor.
