Having worked in the contract furniture industry designing for the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, Richard joined the teaching team as a 2D/3D CAD visiting tutor in 2010 whilst undertaking his part-time Masters and running his freelance design company. Richard is now final year (Level six) leader and first year (Level four) lecturer for the Product and Furniture Design course. 

Richard is passionate about sport, in particular road cycling, and has a keen interest in the design and development of high performance sporting equipment.  He is also a huge admirer of furniture designed by Charles and Ray Eames and his hero is Industrial Design legend Dieter Rams.
