Mohsen Aboutorabi is professor of Architecture and Director of Research studies at the Birmingham School of Architecture, Faculty of Arts, Design and Media, Birmingham City University. His area of research includes urban design, urban sustainability, urban ecology and cultural identity. He is the leader of the research hub,cultural milieupromoting and supporting research and publications on the subject of changing patterns of art, architecture and the urban environment in the context of both local and global cultures. The research focusses on the influence of global culture in promoting homogenisation and removing cultural diversity. Mohsen is also an experienced practicing architect and urban designer with an interest in applying his research interest, sustainability, ecology and cultural identity, in practice.
