UNIVERSITY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 13 APRIL 2015
BAFTA backing on offer for journalism students

Students joining this year's PgDip Broadcast Journalism course will have the chance to apply for financial support from BAFTA.

Each year the Academy offers scholarships to help postgraduate students on a range of film, television or games courses. Our Postgraduate Diploma – which is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council – is one of only a handful of journalism courses that is eligible for BAFTA backing.

Scholarship recipients get up to £10,000 to cover their course fees, the support of an industry mentor and free access to BAFTA events around the country. The deadline for applications is Friday 12 June.

Course Director Professor Diane Kemp said: "It's great news that the course is eligible for the BAFTA scholarship scheme again so anyone coming on the course this year can apply. In fact one of our students – Ola Dosunmu - was awarded a scholarship a couple of years ago and found the support invaluable."
