VoxBox: What The Thunder Said - A Musical Exploration of 'The Waste Land'
Recital Hall, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

Written in 1922, T.S. Eliot’s 'The Waste Land' remains one of the most influential poems of the last century. The poem is a crowded thoroughfare of competing voices, each jostling for attention. In this, the first of our new VoxBox series, we explore the essential role that music plays in this at times barren, at times deafening landscape.
'What the Thunder Said' is inspired by ‘Journeys with ‘The Waste Land’’, an exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry, 15 September – 18 November 2018.
