Public Research Seminar: David Edgar: State of Play

The last 20 years are said to have seen a huge change in theatre practice: the rise of new forms of collaborative theatre-making and the decline of the traditional play. But is that actually what’s been happening? Is the individually-written play dead? Or have playwrights responded to the challenge of the new with a golden age of playwriting? Award-winning playwright David Edgar assesses the past, present and future of the British play.
