Jamie Savan cornett, with electronics
This experimental performance, given in collaboration with Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Integra Lab, draws on modern electronics to realise a series of modal canons in three parts: instant polyphony performed by “just one cornetto”. This programme explores the affective character of the modes (the original “mood music”) and features some of the very earliest music for cornett, by Johann Walter (1542), alongside some of the most recent, by Timothy Roberts (2006) and Martyn Harry (2018).
