Pianists from both the classical and jazz departments explore the relationship between composition and improvisation. The concert will have a range of music that is either improvised or inspired by the act of improvising.

You are invited to hear compositions of an improvisatory nature and compositions with scope for much freedom of decoration and ornamentation as well as freely improvised spontaneous offerings. Repertoire to include Mozart, Monk, Fazil Say, Duke Ellington, Kapustin and Chick Corea.
