Fauré Piano Quartet No.2 in G minor

Pierre Boulez considered l’après-midi d’in faune to be the beginning of modern music:  “the flute of the faun brought new breath to the art of music”.

Fauré’s second piano quartet is darker than the first, ardent, dramatic, restless, even violent. It is undeservedly neglected.
