7.45pm main show Clark Tracey Trio
Award winning drummer Clark Tracey formed this trio following a decade as part of Claire Martin's band. The concept is a recognition of the many tunes penned by British musicians which have become worldwide standards such as "Cherokee", "Seven Steps To Heaven" and "These Foolish Things". Alongside these, compositions by contemporary artists are included, such as Tommy Smith, Tim Garland and Django Bates. The group has recorded twice: "British Standard Time" and "Given Time" (with the addition of saxophonist Brandon Allen), and received acclaim for their personal take on the material.
"A vigorous and musical showcase for three A-list British straightahead players." The Guardian.
