Women in Law

Birmingham City University’s School of Law and xCHANGE 2020 are collaborating to present 101 Years of Women in Law to celebrate International Women’s Day 2020.

2019 marked the centenary of the the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, which allowed women to become legal practitioners, sit on juries and to be awarded their Law degrees after successfully completing their studies. To celebrate, the School of Law are bringing together alumni, academics and current students to learn about what has inspired our Women in Law on their legal journey to date, who have their mentors been and where are things heading in the future for Women in Law?

Speakers include:

Dr Luke Mason, Acting Head of Law School at BCU

Iram Satti, Research and Innovation Support Officer at BCU

Stephanie Perraton, BCU alumna, Birmingham Law Society’s Deputy Vice-President and Partner at Squire Patton Boggs

Eileen Schofield, BCU alumna and Principle Solicitor at Schofield and Associates
