Senior Education Developer

In Carole's role as senior education developer she acts as a consultant for individuals and schools on strategies, interventions and/or and proposals to enhance the student experience and support school and university aims. She is a developer for cross-university support for course leads, a contact point for BCU’s Professional Standards Framework scheme, a developer and facilitator for relevant resources and workshops to support staff development in relation to enhancing learning and teaching and a critical friend for course development and associated assessment and feedback practices.
Her background is in hospitality management, before moving into education in 2003 to teach HND, ILM and CMI management courses. She then taught for many years on access, introductory business and social science courses in HE, alongside a number of other, such as educational adviser and staff developer, with a focus on widening participation and retention strategies.
Carole is a lifelong learner, curious about a wide range of subjects; her more recent formal studies have included mental health studies and environmental decision making, and informally, she's now studying Spanish and whatever MOOC catches her attention. It’s good to learn!
