Introducing The Agency - for the student, by the students!

Visual Communication students will get the chance to work on professional projects, thanks to an independent creative design studio.

The students, under the guidance of lecturers, will work across a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients through The Agency.

The idea behind The Agency is to prepare students for the real world, developing their employability and transferable skills through live projects, client briefs, portfolios, placements, internships and paid work.

David Osbaldestin, the deputy course director for Graphic Communication, says: “The Agency connects students to a range of industry partners from internal clients and peer collaborations through the university, through to commercial clients and third sector/public organisations. The Agency stimulates industry dialogues with students through live projects briefs.

"Students benefit from engaging with the Agency through gaining industry experience of working with live clients, learning from team working and collaboration, building confidence through client presentations and feedback, work placements and paid work.”

Student Sigourney O'Brien says: “The Agency’s creative briefs have allowed me to explore a variety of different challenges in areas both related directly and indirectly to my practice. With a supportive system in place, I have been able to learn new skills and transform my portfolio into a broader and more diverse range of work.”
