You can book online for a one-to-one tutorial to discuss aspects of your work, or attend a variety of study skills and English language workshops free of charge.
Academic Skills tutors can be found at City North Campus in Edge Building (2nd floor) and at City Centre Campus, Millennium Point (4th floor). We hold confidential one-to-one tutorials at various locations around the University where you can discuss any aspect of your studies. It is advisable to book tutorials well in advance.

Workshops
We run workshops throughout the year on topics such as academic writing, critical analysis, presentation skills, writing dissertations, time management, exam preparation, and maths and statistics. There are City North Campus workshops and Millennium Point workshops.
Study guides
A wide range of study guides is available giving advice on academic writing, study skills, maths and statistics, and grammar.
English courses
We run courses for international students who need to improve their English before starting at the University. There are six- and 10-week pre-sessional courses during the summer and winter, and a Foundation (FCEAP) course, which can be taken over one or two semesters.
