Our Sociology department is situated at Birmingham City University's City Centre Campus, in the new Curzon Building.
Teaching takes place in a variety of classroom environments, from formal settings to relaxed surroundings.
Lectures are located in fully equipped lecture theatres, while workshops and seminars take place in less formal settings.
For even less formality, the Department of Sociology has two ‘beanbag’ rooms, which are designed to facilitate less hierarchical interaction and thereby encourage student participation.
There are also computer rooms with workstations that can accommodate up to 40 students for project work and the development of computer-based skills. You will also benefit from using Moodle, the University's Virtual Learning Environment.
