Aiming Higher: Race, Equality and Diversity in the Academy

Runnymede Trust Publication In 2015 the Runnymede Trust published an influential report Aiming Higher: Race, Equality and Diversity in the Academy.

The report was edited by Professor Claire Alexander (University of Manchester) and Jason Arday (Runnymede Trust) and brought together scholars and educationalists from across the country to consider the issues on equality in the academy.

The lead up to the publication was a national seminar series, organised by the Runnymede Trust to open a forum for discussing these issues. The publication was launched in the House of Commons in February 2015, and hosted by David Lammy MP.

CCSR member Dr Kehinde Andrews was part of the national seminar series and contributed a chapter to the report based on the importance of Black Studies carving out a place in the academy
