Arrival and Registration: Registration of applicants for the School of Social Sciences will take place at Level 0, Curzon Building, City Centre Campus.

10am - 10.20am

Introduction to Psychology

This welcome talk will give you with the opportunity to learn more about the Department of Psychology and your course, and to get an insight into what studying Psychology at Birmingham City University will be like. 

10.20am - 11am

Psychology Taster Lecture

Experience a taster lecture on a contemporary topic in Psychology. The taster lecture will be presented by Professor Craig JacksonConnect with Craig on Twitter @CraigProfessor

11am - 11.15am

Break.

11.15am - 12.30pm

Psychology ‘Have a go activities’ (Applicants only)

You will have the chance to take part in a number of interesting practical activities delivered by academic staff, designed to give you a hands-on insight into the areas of study in our Psychology department.

Parent Q and A sessions with students and staff 

You will have the chance to meet and speak with academic staff teaching on the course, current students, and fellow applicants. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the course and student life in Birmingham.

12.30pm – 3pm

Support Service Stands

Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to network with staff, view our welcoming student accommodation and get advice from our Central Support Services including:

  • Library
  • Student Services
  • Accommodation Services & tour booking
  • Centre for Academic Success
  • Graduate+ 
  • Go Abroad
