    Dr Helen Egan was part of a team working with NIMHE (National Institute for Mental Health) involved in developing and evaluating the Primary Care Mental Health Worker role in the West Midlands. She has worked in the NHS developing patient engagement strategies and evaluating the quality of services.

    Dr Aaisha Farooqi graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at University of Leicester, and an MSc in Ergonomics at Loughborough University. She then went on to complete her PhD in Human Factors at the University of Nottingham, which was sponsored by Network Rail.

  • Dr Richard Fereday

    Lecturer in Psychology

    Before joining the department in 2017, Dr Richard Fereday held a post-doctoral position at the University of Liverpool. Prior to this he completed his education in Wales, with a psychology PhD (Cardiff University) and degree (Glamorgan). Richard also has a degree in music, from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

    Dr Olga Fotakopoulou is a Lecturer in Developmental Psychology in the Division of Psychology at Birmingham City University. Olga has worked as a researcher since 2003 in research projects funded by the European Union.

He completed his undergraduate degree in Bangor University, his PhD at Cardiff University, and has provided assistance on a variety of research projects including working for Public Health Wales.

    Dr Martin Glynn  is an experienced and internationally renowned educator, theatre director, and dramatist who has written for theatre, radio, and television. He has also published many poetry books, alongside building a growing reputation as an author of children’s books.

    Dr Arantza Gomez Arana joined Birmingham City University as a fulltime Lecturer in September 2014. She previously worked as a Research Associate at the University of Glasgow where she completed her PhD in 2011.
