Richard Cornish

Dr Richard Cornish is an Automotive Engineer with a wide experience of automotive research and development, especially developing test methods and models to capture new practical knowledge and theoretical insights.

His areas of expertise include modelling and simulation, test, measurement, and product perception. His consultancy work and student projects encompass cars, trains, buildings and factories in the UK and abroad.

Richard is originally from the North of England and came to Birmingham to study physics. He then joined the car industry, working at Lucas Group Research on mathematical models of fuel injection, headlamps and signal lamps, tyres and active suspension.

He then moved on to Leyland DAF and BCU to complete a PhD in vehicle noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).

Richard is also an external examiner at University of Hertfordshire.
