Muhammad graduated from University of Peshawar in 2003 where he completed his Master of Commerce (M.Com) specialising in Advanced Cost and Management Accounting. He set a new record for the highest grades on the M.Com program and was awarded the Gold Medal for his academic achievement on the program.
After graduation, he joined teaching as a Lecturer at PADCIS College Nowshera. In 2005, he left PADCIS and joined Bahria University Islamabad. He was actively involved in teaching, research and academic administration at Bahria University and got promoted to Senior Lecturer and then Assistant Professor.
He completed his MS in Finance from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University in 2008 and his PhD in Finance from Bahria University in 2013. While studying for PhD, he also qualified the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam and was awarded the CFA charter in 2012. He joined Birmingham City University in 2015 as Lecturer and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Finance.
