Dr Rob Smith
Reader in Education
Dr Rob Smith has extensive experience of working in secondary, Further and Higher Education settings. His body of work explores the impact of funding and marketisation on teaching and learning in further education settings. He worked at the University of Wolverhampton for ten years as part of the Post Compulsory Education Teacher Education team, leading modules on policy where he co-founded the Centre for Research and Development in Lifelong Education (CRADLE) with Dr Matt O’Leary. He has researched and written extensively in collaboration with FE and HE practitioners and students. More recently, his work has focused on educational space, leadership and the transformational potential of further education.
