Applicant Days

Birmingham School of Media Applicant Days are designed to give you more information about your course, a chance to meet tutors and students, and the opportunity to see more of our facilities. We hope that you will experience something of the atmosphere of working and learning at the School.

You will also need to bring a portfolio of work which we will assess in conjunction with a short one-to-one interview with an academic member of staff. This is a chance for you to show us what you can do and will help us make a decision on your application.

Together this should mean that we get to know you better and that you will be in a good position to make a decision about us and your future.

Preparing for Your Applicant Day

All the information you need is available in the Preparing for Your Applicant Day pack, which you should download and read carefully.

Preparing for Your Applicant Day (PDF)

The pack has more details on the following:

  • How to Prepare and What to Bring
You are required to bring a portfolio of work and have a one-to-one interview with a tutor. It is very important that you attend a Media Applicant Day as we are usually able to make a decision on your application, which will be confirmed formally via UCAS.
  • Applicant Day Timetable
Each Applicant Day has a set timetable beginning at 10.30am for a 11am start, with set activities finishing at 2pm. One-to-one interviews will then be held from 2pm and will finish by 4pm, although you may leave as soon as your own one-to-one slot is over.
