Here you can find out all about what our students of the Community and Applied Theatre/Dance Theatre programme are currently working on and performances they are appearing in.

The BA (Hons) Community and Applied Theatre/Dance Theatre programme provides innovative, practice-based training using drama, dance and other art forms as a tool to engage, inform and raise awareness. We have strong links within industry in the city, partnering organisations such as Birmingham Repertory Theatre, mac Birmingham and Playhouse Theatre Company. These innovative partnerships provide opportunities for students to engage with these companies and work professionally.

Students also do a six week internship in their second year, which has led to many of them securing employment beyond this placement with their hosts. Students go on to careers within Applied Theatre or Dance Theatre as Community artists, workshop facilitators, performance makers, working within Theatre in Education or Theatre in Health companies, running their own applied performance or community based companies, teachers in Primary or secondary schools and higher education, running their own drama or dance schools
