Course Overview

Future Media: Nano provides one week of industry-led, hands-on intensive training, addressing hot topics Search Engine Marketing, Gamification, Mobile Marketing and Social Media, followed by the opportunity to take up a placement with one of our partner companies including positions at Found, Marketing Birmingham, and Glee Club.

So if your media career needs that extra shove, bolster your career options with Future Media: Nano. This course gives you the opportunity to:

  • Expand your knowledge by learning from the experts
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop sales and marketing campaign strategy to a live brief
  • Secure a work placement with a leading agency/company that will greatly enhance your CV

Companies need their employees to be more innovate and enterprising within the work place. Future Media: Nano can flexibly fit into your busy schedule, as well as equip you with industry knowledge.

This course provides a taste of the 12-month Masters degree Future Media: Pro, giving you a bite-size opportunity to expand and update your digital communications knowledge, experience working within a multidisciplinary team and as part of a leading digital agency/company.

The weeklong training will be structured as follows (subject to minor modifications):

Day One

Introduction to the course with Tina Judic and Lisa Smith:

  • Ice breakers
  • Summary of the course
  • What is Future Media?
  • What are the jobs / career routes?
  • What you’ll get out of the course

Industry-led training with Ennis Al-Saiegh from Offer of the Day

Topic: Search Engine and Affiliate Marketing introduction

Day Two

Industry-led training with Luke Townsend from Found

Topic: Search Engine Marketing for Designers

Day Three

Industry-led training with Greg Burgess from Found

Topic: Search Engine Marketing for Analysts

Day Four

Industry-led training with Mark Brill

Topic: Gamification, Mobile Marketing and Social Media

Day Five

Facilitated by Mark Brill

Topic: Live brief exercise/s in teams, creating sales and marketing campaign strategy and delivery plans

Placement interviews will take place throughout the day.

Entry Requirements

Future Media: Nano is open to applicants who are innovative and enterprising and can demonstrate an aptitude for project management, creative asset development or strategy and analysis.

You must be a graduate with two years' experience, or if a recent graduate, can demonstrate work experience during previous studies.

Other qualifications may be accepted if you can demonstrate equivalent experience.

You may have existing qualifications in:

  • Marketing
  • Business Studies
  • English / Linguistics
  • Economics / Statistics
  • Multimedia / Digital Content Creation
  • Art and Design
  • Media and Communications
  • Journalism / PR
  • Psychology

Ideally you will demonstrate a talent/aptitude for areas such as:

  • Project Management
  • Ideas and strategy
  • Design and/or Content Creation
  • Research, Statistics and Analysis
  • Social Media

International (non-EU) students also require the following:

  • English - IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any bands). We do also accept students who have TOEFL or Pearsons. For information on equivalence scores and pre-sessional language courses please visit English Language provision.
