Future Creative: Games (Advanced)
Course Overview
This session is aimed at high performing pupils in Maths, Science or Art. On this course students will use professional games development or art tools to create a playable game for PC.
Pupils join the course as either programmers or artists, and are organised into project teams.
Within their teams they will be given a game brief, art tools, development tools and a development template. These tools may include Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, Torque 2D, Unity.
Students will be taught skills and techniques required to complete the project and they will be supported in the delivery of the game by industry and education professionals
At the end of the course, pupils present their finished game products to the rest of the group and games industry professionals.
Places: 12
Years: 10 and 11 only
Entry: Pupils will be offered places based on their existing skill level in maths (Pre-GCSE Algebra, trigonometry) and pupils need to be computer literate.
