LUCID

LUCID logoThe LUCID project explored the potential of wireless devices, creating innovative apps and hosting a string of workshops and events along the way.

Demonstration activities included a live-text blogging system using mobile devices at  Flatpack Festival, which encouraged and aided audience participation.

Focusing on how different content could be delivered to wireless devices, such as smart phones, dependent on factors such as the user’s location, the project ran from September 2008 to March 2009.

LUCID stands for ‘Location, User and Context-Aware Information Delivery’, and an archive of our research, app development and videos from the workshops, can be found on the LUCID website.

The project was led by Birmingham City University, partnered with the University of Wolverhampton and Digital Birmingham, and was funded by Advantage West Midlands.
