I qualified as a Children’s Nurse from the University of Birmingham, in 2001. I then worked at City Hospital in a number of departments within the Paediatric Unit, including Neonatal Intensive Care, General Medicine, Surgery and A&E.

In my final year at City Hospital, my clinical teaching role became more formalised when I became a Clinical teacher for the Trust. This position involved the organisation and delivery of clinical skills teaching sessions, and the support and assessment of student nurses in practice.

Finally, my interests in nurse education brought me here to the Faculty of Health at Birmingham City University in 2005. In my present role as a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Midwifery and Child Health, I co-ordinate and teach on a number of modules across several different courses.

Due to my work relating to the effective use of technology enhanced learning and teaching, I have been awarded a University Learning and Teaching Fellowship and was also nominated by the University for a National Teaching Fellowship in 2007.
