Helen Needham

Helen worked for 25 years as a Community Nurse for people with Learning Disabilities. She became a full time member of the Learning Disability Nursing team at Birmingham City University in 2016.

Helen is a qualified counsellor with a particular interest in the psychological wellbeing of people with Learning disabilities. She has a special interest in end of life and bereavement support.

Helen is on the LGBT+ staff committee and is the representative for the City South campus. She has been involved in raising the awareness of diversity, including the distribution of rainbow lanyards, and research around this.
