Susie is dual qualified as both an adult and child nurse. She has extensive experience within the field of Children’s intensive care nursing and joined the university in 2003 from a London university where she delivered specialist Children’s intensive care nursing modules.

Susie is the senior lecturer for placement development and support for child field nursing. Her role encompasses managing all matters relating to practice placements and involves aspects such as offering student advice and support; facilitation of learning opportunities by seeking out new placements; liaison with practice partners; developmental projects enabling students to link theory to practice and responsibility for quality monitoring and enhancement initiatives and protocols Susie has taught and assessed across a variety of pre and post registration nursing modules during her time at the university, as well as forming close links with partner organisations. She is passionate about promoting the importance and value of learning within the practice setting for student nurses.
