Simon has been delivering BCU’s post registration Cardiac courses since 2003 and has overseen their development from diploma awards to the current provision at Level 6 and 7. In addition he is part of the Dimensions in Health Care (now Professional Practice award) programme team, facilitating the provision of a variety of BCU’s post registration awards.

Simon qualified as a Nurse in 1991 and worked exclusively in Acute Cardiac environments, predominantly Coronary Care Units in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

He completed the ENB 124 in Coronary Care Nursing as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiology and Education (part of his Masters of Education in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education). Simon currently holds Advanced Life Support provider status.

He delivers modules (and sessions) on both Acute and Long Term Cardiac Conditions with a particular interest in ECG interpretation, associated condition management and Heart Failure.
