Birmingham City University has welcomed Rosemary Evans as the new Head of the School of Law.
After studying Law at university and undertaking Law Society Finals at Chester College of Law, Rosemary qualified as a solicitor in 1985 and went on to teach at Staffordshire University in 1993 as the Legal Practice Course (LPC) was introduced.
In 2001, Rosemary led the LPC team at Staffordshire University to secure the highly sought after Law Society ‘Excellent’ rating, placing it among one of only five providers in England and Wales to have secured the grade. Occupying various managerial roles during her time at Staffordshire University, Rosemary was made Dean of Law in 2008.
Having previously worked with the Law Society as Manager of Quality and Standards for Legal Education and Training, Rosemary continues her association with the professional body for solicitors by undertaking consultancy work for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) as the Institutional Lead External Examiner for BPP Law School and external examiner at the University of West England.
Rosemary has expressed her enthusiasm at joining Birmingham City University. She said: “Staff in the department and the wider University are full of drive and enthusiasm and I envisage that together we will be able to achieve great things for Law at this University.”
