Courses climb Guardian league tables

A number of Birmingham City University courses have risen up the Guardian’s annual university league tables.

The University’s Acting course, housed in the institution's Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, is now ranked as the UK’s third best course after moving up from fourth in last year’s table.

Elsewhere, Nursing and Midwifery climbed to 18 place nationally, almost halving its previous position of 30 in the table, while our Education course now sits in 17 position and is the highest ranked of any West Midlands institution.

There was also success for the University's Social Work course which moved up 15 places in the newspaper’s yearly table.

The annual Guardian university league tables are aimed specifically at students trying to choose a course to study.

It ranks universities and courses on topics such as teaching, other students’ views of the institution and job prospects upon graduation.
