A former Olympic athlete crossed the finish line on a major new city landmark today, marking the opening of Birmingham City University’s brand new building, The Curzon Building.

Richard Buck, who competed as part of the relay team at the London 2012 Olympics and won gold in the 4x400m at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in 2013, marked the opening of the building by running from the newly completed Grand Central at Birmingham New St Station to the newly developed campus at Eastside.

Richard, who is now studying a postgraduate degree at Birmingham School of Acting, recorded his journey on a GoPro camera, capturing some of the city’s major landmarks and attractions, all of which are now on the doorstep for students studying at Birmingham City University.
