In 1963, Hille furniture and renowned designer Robin Day launched one of the most significant chairs of the 20th century - the 'Polyprop' side chair. Over 14 million of this innovative product have been sold worldwide since then and it is still in production today.

This historical exhibition traces the evolution of the polypropylene chair within the wider context of 19th and 20th century furniture design and the impact of new materials and process on seating solutions for the public domain.
