Station Multimedia Producer, Heart Cambridgeshire
Graduated in 2011
James Gregory began preparing for his successful career in radio while still a student studying BA (Hons) Media and Communication (Radio) at the University.
As well as being involved with our student station Scratch Radio, he says the most beneficial opportunity for him was the recruitment drive that Heart West Midlands ran during his first few weeks at the University.
This enabled him to work within various roles for the company throughout his time at the University, as he fitted work experience around his studies. He spent nine months working at Heart West Midlands in the role of Assistant Breakfast Producer, and Assistant to the Multimedia Producer, and in his third year, he began to work as a freelance Assistant Multimedia Producer and cover Breakfast Producer at Heart West Midlands.
The experience and contacts he built up helped him to secure his first full-time role as he successfully applied for the role of Station Multimedia Producer at Heart Cambridgeshire, and started work the day after his graduation.
