The British Journal of American Legal Studies has no minimum or maximum page requirements for submissions. We welcome submissions of various formats, including essays and articles, but do not currently publish book reviews. American orthography is preferred. Citations should conform to the current edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Please note that we will not normally accept submissions from students currently pursuing undergraduate or J.D. degrees but will consider submissions from Ph.D./S.J.D. candidates. Submissions should be accompanied by a brief C.V.

Expedited Reviews

We will do our best to process expedite requests but please understand that our peer review process takes time. It is not necessary to send an email advising us that you have requested an expedited review via ExpressO. If you submitted a hard copy by regular mail and require an expedited review, please contact the Senior Articles Editor by email at BJALS@bcu.ac.uk. Please include your name and "Expedite Request" in the subject line.

Withdrawals

We prefer to receive withdrawal notifications via ExpressO. It is not necessary to send us an email in addition to the ExpressO withdrawal.
