School of Law Applicant Taster Days
Activities on the Day
Here is a brief overview of the kinds of activities you can expect to take part in during your day.
You will be given an overview of the benefits provided by the School, course structures (including modules), and the range of opportunities available to you to ensure the rapid development of your professional skills and knowledge.
For all courses the following activities will take place during the day:
Taster Lecture (applicants only)
Experience a taster lecture on an interesting issue. This will give you the opportunity to gain an insight into what it’s like to study a social science degree at Birmingham City University.
Mock Seminar and Mock Courtroom Activities (applicants only)
This workshop will mirror some of the teaching strategies that are implemented on the course and give applicants a taster of the sort of work they will be involved with on the course.
Parents and Guardians Q and A
This presents an opportunity for parents and/or guardians to discuss aspects of student life at the University with tutors and current students, whilst applicants are carrying out the taster session. This allows parents and/or guardians to explore what new undergraduates experience on the course, what the challenges are and how parents and/or guardians and families can support them.
