Munachiso is one of the University's best students, going far beyond his academic responsibilities to make a difference to international students across the University. He was the runner-up for the Undergraduate Student of the Year at the University's Extra Mile Awards 2013/14.
Munachiso currently works in the International Office through the OpportUNIty student employment scheme, helping to counsel hundreds of prospective international students through their University applications.
He has also been praised for making a significant contribution to the profile of the institution, helping to promote the University and its courses at Open Days and Applicant Visit Days, both in the UK and overseas. For example, Munachiso recently travelled to Nigeria to help promote the University to the increasing number of prospective students in the region.
Munachiso has also represented the University at high-profile workshops run by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), giving a presentation on the University's Student Academic Partnerships scheme. Munachiso also holds a role on the Student Advisory Board, helping to represent the voice of his fellow international students.
In his spare time, Munachiso has helped to revive the Nigerian Students' Society and acted as the society's President. During this period, he helped to organise a Nigerian independence party to help welcome and involve new international students.
In addition to all this, Munachiso has even taken personal responsibility for helping new international students to settle in Birmingham, travelling to Birmingham Airport on several occasions as a volunteer to join the meet and greet service for new international students.
