Enrolment
You’ll be required to complete the first stage of your enrolment online through the mySRS portal, before booking to attend an on-campus enrolment session when you first arrive in Birmingham.
This first stage is known as ‘online enrolment’.
You can find some information to help you prepare for enrolment here.
You’ll be contacted automatically by email and asked to log-in to the mySRS portal to complete your online enrolment. This usually happens about a month before you start your programme.
If you have any difficulties completing the online enrolment task, you can request help by clicking the help icon located at the top of each of the enrolment task screens. If you are having difficulty enrolling online, we have a video tutorial going through step by step the online enrolment task.

Once you have completed your online enrolment, you will be able to book an on-campus enrolment appointment.
On-campus enrolment
To complete your enrolment and before you obtain your Student ID Card, you are required to attend an on-campus enrolment appointment.
You must bring the following documents:
- Passport
- Home Office Decision Letter (Student Visa students only)
- Biometrics Residence Permit (BRP)*
*If you have chosen Birmingham City University as your delivery point, you will be able to pick your BRP up at your on-campus enrolment appointment. If you have chosen a Post Office as your delivery point, you will need to collect your BRP before attending your on-campus appointment. If you have an outstanding application with the Home Office, you will need to bring:
- Proof of immigration application to the Home Office (letter from Home Office and/or Post Office receipt)
Booking your on-campus enrolment appointment
- You will need to book your enrolment appointment through the mySRS portal.
- If you need to quarantine on arrival in the UK you must NOT book an appointment during your 14 day quarantine period
- New appointments are being made available all of the time so please keep checking if you are unable to see any availability on your first attempt
The legal bits
When you enrol at Birmingham City University – either for the first time or as a returning student – you enter into a formal agreement with the University, with rules, regulations and disciplinary procedures on both sides.
