Master's degrees

A Master's or graduate degree is an academic degree granted to individuals who have undergone a course of study demonstrating a mastery or high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice.
A Master's degree programme is also known in the UK as a postgraduate (taught) course and is typically studied after the successful completion of an international recognised Bachelor's degree or its academic or professional equivalent. Within the area studied, graduates possess advanced knowledge of a specialised body of theoretical and applied topics; high order skills in analysis, critical evaluation and/or professional application; and the ability to solve complex problems and think rigorously and independently.
The two most common types of Master's degrees are the Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc); these may be course-based, research-based, or (more typically) a mixture of the two.
At the University we offer excellent opportunities to study at postgraduate taught programmes. A postgraduate taught programme can be invaluable to your career development.
