Overseas student fee status
If you can show a relevant connection with the UK or the EU, you may be classed as a ‘home’ student and therefore be exempt from international fees. If you would like clarification on your status before submitting an application, please contact International Admissions to request a Fee Status Assessment Questionnaire.
Living costs
When you are applying for Tier 4 student visa, the UKBA will seek that you have at least £5,400 in your bank account (Outside inner London rate) to cover your basic living costs for your first nine months of study. Your first few weeks here will be the most expensive, since as well as paying your fees, you will probably need to buy books and equipment for your course. Remember, you will not be eligible for UK welfare benefits but most of you will be permitted to work. Our Careers and Job Prospects Service can help you find part-time and vacation work.
