Graduate School

Ravensbury HouseThe Graduate School forms part of the Centre for Health and Social Care Research based in Ravensbury House at the City South Campus.

It is the hub of activity for our research students, post-doctoral staff, research supervisors, and supports doctoral studies across various disciplines including healthcare, medicine, biomechanics and social sciences.

We encourage original and independent scholarship and help prepare students to become independent researchers in their chosen field.

One of our objectives is to help foster intellectual and social links between postgraduate students and researchers from different disciplines and across the University with a view to continually improving the postgraduate experience.

The School coordinates all aspects of doctoral level training, including running a complementary seminar programme and a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Practice course, which all students are expected to complete.

We organise new students' inductions, which provide essential information about studying at Birmingham City University. We also perform an annual review of students' progress.
