City Health Journal
This journal is concerned with all aspects of health, care and wellbeing for all members of society. The editorial team take a broad view of health, care and wellbeing which are seen as embracing, but not limited to, the various professions and applied sciences represented within the Faculty, their work within and outside the University and other relevant issues. The journal welcomes:
- Qualitative or quantitative research papers or interim reports that address any aspect of health, care or wellbeing
- Practice papers that provide insight into new developments in practice, examples of competent practice or discuss particular areas of concern. Short/summary systematic reviews will also be considered.
- Education papers that showcase new developments in teaching and learning, provide examples of good practice or address problem areas
- Papers that focus on the application of technology in health, care, wellbeing or education
- Debate papers that examine issues of concern, topical or contentious matters or under-addressed subjects
- Papers that address management issues in health, care or wellbeing
- Short reports about new books, software and other resources
- Letters
Papers should normally be between 1,500 and 2,000 words in length and begin with an abstract of no more than 300 words. This is not included in the total numbers of words for the paper.
Research/debate/interim papers should clearly present the aims, literature review, methodological issues and findings associated with the topic.
Practice papers should aim to provide insight into new developments in practice, examples of competent practice or discuss particular areas of concern.
Education papers should discuss research or developments concerned with improving professional education.
Key words should be compatible with the taxonomies used by Medline, NICE and other major databases in order to encourage citation.
Papers should be submitted electronically to the Health Research Office for peer review. An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent via email. Feedback from reviewer is normally provided, via email, within 6-8 weeks.
Other items
Book reviews should be no more than 500 words in length and provide an overview of the key features of the text.
Reports about study days, conferences and other events should be no more than 600 words in length.

Authors are advised to adhere to the Faculty policies on these issues.
