Research

We carry out research through the Centre for Health and Social Care Research (CHSCR), which brings health professionals, medical and social scientists from across the Faculty together to provide high-quality research for patients, healthcare practitioners and students.

The focus of the research centre is on the educational development of students and practice-based colleagues, and also on the translation of laboratory-based medical science into applied patient care.

Themes

Our research is organised under four main themes (links open in mini-sites):

Each theme is diverse and may range from applied research in patient and service user care and treatment, to understanding ways of developing the practice of health professionals.

Knowledge Transfer

CHSCR has a strong commitment to knowledge transfer and we are involved in collaborations with health services, local hospitals, industrial partners and other universities both nationally and internationally.

In addition the CHSCR houses our growing Graduate School of research students registered for MPhil or PhD degrees who form a thriving part of our research community.

External researchers wishing to undertake research at the Faculty of Health should contact the Centre for Health and Social Care Research office.
